Using EFT For Weight Loss

According to Dr. Carol Look, using EFT for weight loss takes some effort, and can be extremely effective for compulsive eating, and even metabolic disorders.
She first begins by addressing the addictive nature that many over-eaters share, and asks clients to tap 3 times a day (plus whenever a food craving arises) on a primary phrase that fits them.
“Even though I’m addicted to sugar…”
“Even though I binge on sweets…”
This experience tends to uncover some of the anxieties that drive the addictive behavior.
“Even though I eat to relieve stress…”
“Even though I eat when I’m lonely…”
And of course, there’s the guilt and self-loathing factor.
“Even though I feel guilty for overeating…”
When addressing events in the past, don’t forget to look at self-image, body shame, and family’s beliefs surrounding food. Be patient. More than likely, it will take a bit of time to bring these old feelings to the surface.
Next, try looking to the future. What sorts of feelings come up when you put yourself in the place where you have achieved your goal weight?
“How do you feel now that you no longer eat sweets before bed?”
“How does it make you feel that you are now down to ____ pounds?”
Try EFT tapping for the feelings that come up.
“Even though I have a block to weighing less than ____ …”
“Even though I binge every time I almost reach my goal weight…”
You should also use EFT for the unconscious blocks to losing weight.
“Even if I never lose weight…”
Let the phrases flow, follow them, and you will get closer and closer to dissolving the core issues.
The endocrine system still needs to be addressed, even when you’re using EFT for your weight loss program. The starvation/binge cycle of chronic dieters so unbalances the endocrine system that it’s almost impossible to put your physiology right again…
Until you give up sugar and food that turns to sugar quickly – anything made with grains and flours.*
When you do, it will be easier to get back on track. But the cravings can be fierce.
Lucky for you, you’re using EFT! Losing weight when you don’t know about tapping is not for the faint-of-heart.
You might want to tap for a slow metabolism.
“Even though my metabolism is slow…”
“Even though everyone in my family has low thyroid…”
The key to using EFT for weight loss is patience, persistence, and listening to your body for the clues it is giving you.
*Please also note that artificial sweeteners aren’t recommended, either. Not only do they make you crave sweets, there are well-known neurological and digestive side effects associated with them. Try Stevia, a natural product, if you must have a sweetener.
